The diameter of helix
The diameter of helix (500 mm, 600 mm, 900 mm) is selected for each object (section) individually. The main requirement is maximum efficiency. Secondary — is the ability and ease of installation. The main issue in choosing the fencing — the distance between the turns of the spiral should not be more than 390 mm. Overstretching of a hank leads to the distance increment between the coils, reducing the rigidity of the helix, and consequently to a distortion of the idea of creating a highly effective defensive fencing.
The number of studs
Often, using the non-acquaintance of the buyer, a seller does not specify the number of fastening brackets (3 or 5) and sells cheap 3-studded helix for the price of a more expensive 5-studded. The buyer should know, that if the use of 3-studded bonds are still valid for helices with small diameters (500 — 600 mm) at the expense of the barrier’s effectiveness (its stiffness and resistance to snacking), than the spirals of large diameter (900 mm) it’s unacceptable — fencing becomes ineffective this way.
The quality of the raw materials
The thickness of a galvanized steel tape should vary between 0.5 ±0.05 mm. Using a thinner tape does not affects the effectiveness of the security fence (the barrier properties are reduced — spines not hooked, but bent) at first, but in the long term will shorten the duration of barrier in several times. The guiding wire must be galvanized and made of high carbon steel, with a diameter of 2.4 — 2.5 mm. If the wire is uncoated, then soon you will lose the fencing. Studs should also be made of galvanized metal. If you use a material without coating, then at the contact points will start the process of destruction, your fencing will lose durability and aesthetic appearance.
You should carefully check the quality of tape’s spinning in. The tape should tightly compress the guide wire and there must be no looseness. The galvanized surface of the tape after compression should not be damaged (or deformed), which often occurs because of the equipment depreciation (wear and tear of dies) or due to imperfection of technological process. From these causes depends the sharpness of spikes on the tape.
